Topflight¿ 5140-2 Squirrel-Proof Bird Feeder Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)The bird feeder arrived with numerous cracks in the plastic where the hanging mechanism is attached. Also, the spring that closes the feeder is much too rigid allowing, at its lowest setting, for even a heavy crow to land without closing. Obviously, I am not very happy with the purchase though it appeared to be a good idea. It needs much better quality control!

Product Description:
It happens year after year; you put out seed for the lovely songbirds in your yard and end up feeding the neighborhood squirrels instead. This handsome feeder solves the problem using a unique, weight-activated system to protect the seed inside. A double-sided design feeds more birds at a time, while its extra-large, 6-pound seed capacity lessens the need for refills. A copper-colored bail-style handle allows you to hang it almost anywhere in your yard, deck, or patio. The feeder also has a lovely chew- and weather-resistant finish for maximum durability. This item is covered by a lifetime warranty.

Songbird Essentials Squirrel Spinner Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)They love this thing.I recommend having it face a window where you can watch them play. They will usually hang upside down and twirl it around, while eating.

We already wore out our first one and decided to replace it.The first one lasted nearly a decade.

It's such a simple design, but they seem to really love it.The nails are nice and long, so it holds the corn cobs on really well.

Hiatt Manufacturing 38023 Stokes Select Squirrel Baffle Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I had no problems at all with the company and the baffle works great with keeping the squirrels away, but getting that huge sticker off made me wish I had bought another one.I spent about an hour and a half stripping it off and using Goo Gone.I would not buy that baffle again. Why in the world would they put that huge sticker (just look at the picture) on there and glue it on there like that? There is no way I was going to put that baffle out in my yard with a big label on it, so I had to get it off.I have removed many stickers in my life, but that was bad!

Bird Lovers Blend No Squirrels Bird Food, 7.5 Lbs Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Like most bird enthusiasts, I'm SO SICK of squirrels. They're always hanging on--and damaging--my feeders, and they deter birds too. And, of course, they devour my seed so I wind up buying 5 pounds of seed, 4 1/2 of which goes to the resident furry-tailed rats!

So I bought this in a move of desperation. If this hadn't worked, I was prepared to take my feeders down--no fewer than SIX squirrels were hanging off of, or under, my feeders, and it's a full time job for me and my dog to keep them away!I can't claim there are NEVER squirrels around my feeders.Since switching to this food, I have yet to see a single squirrel actually hanging from my feeders. They will, however, eat the stuff that's fallen on the ground underneath (I'm sure there's some "old" food down there that they liked too).I've got a decent amount of property, so I've noticed what's also helping is to buy some bulk dried corn to put out for the squirrels elsewhere on the property--the squirrels (AND other, new birds we haven't seen here before!) hang out at the corn, and my feeder is spared the company and damage of squirrel mouths.

I'm pretty pleased.I give it four stars only because the squirrels aren't completely deterred--but they're definitely not hanging on my feeders, and they're definitely not spending nearly as much time here as they were with my old food mix.
