(More customer reviews)I was skeptical that any of these ultrasonic devices would actually work at all.But, I have to say, this unit, the Rodar II, totally got the job done.I'm impressed.I had a squirrel problem in my attic, and this one pesky bugger just loved waking me up on early weekend mornings.The day I placed the Rodar II in my attic was the last day I ever heard of Mr. Squirrel.He left for the much quieter neighbor's house.Like it says here, the unit is practically silent.You can faintly here a very very light clicking, but in my attic, it's all but forgotten.I just leave it plugged in up there all the time, and now I can get some needed extra sleep on weekends. The unit itself is small.For some reason, I had gotten the idea that it was much larger in the pictures here, but that's likely because there's nothing to reference it's scale to. It easily fits behind ductwork in your attic or basement.It has a reasonably long AC power cord too, so you'll likely not need an extension cord.

Though the website states that it is being revised, there is a toll free number listed. I called to inquire about a refund because initially the product wasn't working for me. Though the agent was more than accomodating about providing a refund, she also took the time to ask me how I'd been using the product. As it turns out, I was applying it all wrong. She talked me through how I should use it, and it's been working like a charm ever since. It takes a little bit of time to begin to work, but it was worth the wait. ****
I've had a couple of requests to clarify what the correct way of applying the product is, and my apologies for not including that in my original review. I had applied a heavy dose of the Shake-Away on my garden,and was downright furious the following day when I saw rabbits eating away! That was why I had called. The girl instructed me to apply it lightly 2 times a week for 2 weeks, and said that it may take up to 2 weeks for it to start working. She said that once it started working, to apply it once a month to keep the bunnies away. So that's the trick, light but consistent applications.

(More customer reviews)I found this product to be very useful in keeping the squirrels from eating my bird seed; but I used a full packet per 8qt bucket of seed. I was pleasantly surprised to see my feeders full and only birds eating from them. If you are unfamiliar with working with hot peppers be very careful using this product. Wear gloves and possibly a mask.The new website for C&S ( wildsuets.com )states to use an oil coating on the seed before applying the powder:Mix only five pounds of seed at a time!Mix the seed well with several sprays of a non-stick vegetable spray, or two teaspoons of cooking oil before applying the "Squirrel Away TM".The birds do not taste the oil or the powder. Therefore, they do not know it is there.Mix the powder one teaspoon full at a time, taking care to mix thoroughly.ALLOW TREATED SEED TO SIT 20 MINUTES BEFORE FILLING THE FEEDER!.

(More customer reviews)After trying all sorts of things (moth balls, tea tree oil, lights on 24X7, live trap, etc.) that did not work to evict squirrels (they are very clever) from my attic, I did a lot of research and found that this was the most recommended product.It is fairly expensive, and I could not find a used one, so I bought a new one.One thing that is definite is that squirrels hate it, and it works right away in a simple attic.In other words, if your attic is totally flat and the light is be able to reach everywhere, you are all set.If you have a complex construction (as I did), you have to make sure that you put it so that the light reaches the hole from which squirrels go in and out.That way once they are out they won't come back in.At that point you should close the hole.
