(More customer reviews)My wife used to purchase Deer Off at a local landscaping store, and there was no question that it worked. We have a lot of deer in our area, and if she kept our plants sprayed right after a heavy rain washed things off, the deer didn't bother the plants. If she forgot, it only took a day or two before the deer ate the plants.

The local store stopped carrying Deer Off this year, so I decided to purchase it on Amazon. When I got it, my wife noticed that the color of the concentrate was different than before. It seems that they have a new formula, and it DOESN'T work! (Their website confirms that they have "improved" their formula.) I contacted the Havahart company directly to see if they would trade me for the old formula, but they didn't even answer my email. I strongly suggest that you stay away from this product unless they return to their original, proven, formula.

Deters deer, rabbits and squirrels from your lawn, garden and landscape. A patented Dual Deterrent System™ formula provides both scent and taste barriers. The formula contains putrescent eggs solids at 6.25% (0.78% when diluted), garlic and capsaicin. The putrescent egg and garlic scent, coupled with a hot pepper taste, dissuade deer, rabbits, and squirrels from eating your plants, bulbs, flowers, trees, ornamentals, seedlings, edible fruits and vegetables. Weather-resistant. 128 oz. concentrate makes 8 gallons of spray, which is enough to treat 1,600 ornamental shrubs four feet tall or approximately 16,000 sq. ft. of plantings. When applied as directed, Deer Off is weather-resistant and lasts up to 90 days. More frequent application may be necessary where animal pressure is heavy. EPA registered for direct use on plants, bulbs, flowers, trees and food crops up to two weeks before harvesting. Deer Off should not leave a visible film or residue and will not change the color of plants and foliage.

(More customer reviews)Deer Off really does keep deer, woodchucks and rabbits from eating our garden plants, shrubs and trees.It works winter and summer in our semi-rural southern Wisconsin location.Rain will wash it off, but usually applying it every few weeks does the trick.
I recommend using the concentrate.Keep the bottle in your refrigerator.No, it won't make your 'frige stink!We mix it up as needed and spray it with an inexpensive plastic pressurized sprayer.Diluted concentrate in the sprayer does not spoil, but will freeze in the winter as it is water-based.
The concetrate seems expensive, but it's much cheaper than buying the pre-mixed version.Just a light application on each plant is all that's needed to be effective.

The 1st year I bought a small bottle,it worked so well, that for the past two years I have purchased the 32 ounce concentrate. I had an old deck sprayer that had never been used, and I mixed half the concentrate, with 7 parts water and applied it liberally.Each year on Halloween I use it,and it lasts all winter with no re-applications. This Deer Off is all I will ever use on my trees and shrubs.

(More customer reviews)I purchased Deer Off when I was at the end of my rope. I've always had a small problem with squirrels in my roses, but they only ate the ones that were easy to get to and I was content to let them have them, since there were so many others. Then an adolescent squirrel fell in love with them and braved the thorns to eat EVERY ROSE on my bushes. He'd wait until new roses budded and snatch them before they bloomed, no matter how high they were. He'd pull stalks over to get them and was wrecking my bushes. As an animal lover, I knew that I had to find an alternative I could live with.

Deer Off is amazing. I sprayed it ONCE (about 6 weeks ago) and the squirrels now give my plants wide berth. The smell must be offensive to them, but the scent is mild to my human nose and faded to nothing about a minute after spraying. I HIGHLY recommend it. I didn't expect it to work this well!
