(More customer reviews)This squirrel baffle is just about as cheap as they come here on Amazon.(The best and cheapest ones can be found either at a local Tractor Supply company, or at the Tractor Supply website).Its not quite as big or effective as either a squirrel deterrent or protection from the weather as a dome style, but it is certainly far better than nothing. (And a whole lot cheaper). The problem with the basic design of this baffle is the swing away system it employs. The same ineffective system that is unfortunately employed in a lot of squirrel baffles.Even ones a lot more expensive than this one. The theory behind it is that the squirrel will lay down its paw on top of it with its full weight, slip off, and then fall to the ground as the baffle swings out of the way. Unfortunately this is one of those times when something sounds most logical in theory, but is a total bust in actual practice.Squirrels very quickly figure out the baffles rational and set out to defeat it.That is to say, they just come to learn to hang their feet from above and use the baffles swing away design to their advantage by it moving freely out of their way.Just about everyone that has a bird feeder then sees the usual result.A squirrel hanging down from above upside down feasting on and spilling your expensive seed. This baffle can be made far more effective by a simple redesign.Just unscrew the two hooks that merge in the middle of the dome from above and underneath and screw in a lock nut so it is flush with the baffle on top and below.Then screw the hooks back in.The swing away design is then defeated and the baffle will remain stiff and very hard for the squirrel to move out of the way with his body due to the counterweight of the feeder underneath.Trust me, it is very simple to do and it makes this very reasonably priced baffle most effective indeed.I recommend this baffle if you're on a budget and desire something that works very well with the simple modification described above.Order several at once to make the shipping charge worth it...

Depending on the construction of the feeder, I have finished the battle of wits with these 'rodents'. 90% of the time this product will deliver its objective. That is to toss the furry into space. "They" did tend to cling to the feeder constructed of softer material such as wood. Maybe they could develop a model with a supercharge takeoff that kicks in when this is detected.

(More customer reviews)This feeder is the best I've had, and I have had a bunch. It has a huge capacity so you don't have to fill it very often. It is almost impossible for squirrels to stand on and if they manage to get a foothold their weight closes the feeding ports so they can't get anything. You can adjust it to exclude large birds such as starlings and grackles. When it needs to be cleaned you just put it in the dishwasher. When an especially crafty squirrel tried to chew it's way in to my feeder I informed Brome about the damage and they sent me a replacement part for free! Squirrel busters have a lifetime warranty against squirrel damage. I have had mine for about 3 years and couldn't be happier with it. If you only have one bird feeder in your life this should be the one.

(More customer reviews)Our dog won't touch a toy unless it's filled with food.She's figured a lot of the puzzle toys out, and cleans out a classic Kong in record time.I really needed something to keep her occupied for an extended time, and Squirrel Dude is my man.It's similar to a classic Kong, except it has four flexible, triangular tabs in the opening.You can control the "flow" of food--simply leave the tabs as is to make the dog's job harder, or trim them so the food falls out faster.You'll have to gauge it based on the size of the treat you plan to use, and how dedicated your dog is.We like to fill this with smaller treats--kibble, bits of chicken jerky, Zuke's, and broken-up biscuits, so I just barely trimmed each tab and it works great.She'll work at this off and on all day, and sometimes will take longer than a day to empty it. We've had Squirrel Dude about six months--he takes a beating every day and has held up incredibly well.This was truly money well spent.

Squngee Squirrel Feeder Review

(More customer reviews)We bought it after months of struggling with squirrels monopolizing our bird feeder.We figured why not get some fun out of the situation and purchased the squngee.We have not regretted the purchase.

We attached the squngee to one end of a 3 ft long 2x2 and nailed the other end to the pine tree.We first put it at a height of about a foot and half above the ground to entice the squirrel and make sure the little bastard knows how to use it.Well, it did not take long for the little guy to figure it out (I swear this squirrel is smarter than me).But then the fun really started.We increased the height to over 2 feet, and it became challenging for the squirrel to get to the corn.

Eventually the squirrel resorted to either jumping/flying from the tree to "hop" on the corns, or jumping up from the ground. Once he is on the corns, he needs all of his legs to hold on so he uses his teeth to pull off the kernels on the ground.Then he hops off and eats for a while on the ground.When he is on the corns, the squngee bounces back and forth and it is extremely fun to watch.This whole event transpires in about 5 - 10 seconds.But he will do this over and over again until he is full or there is no more corn.There are a couple of squirrels by us and it takes about 3 - 5 days before the corns are emptied.

Guests are always curious to see it.. and those that are timely enough to watch it in action always walk away giggling and amused.
